Lets start at the beginning, Michael was born to a famous magician, “Mickey O Malley” (stage name), who performed in front of audiences since he was 17 years old. Mickey then went on to be the staff artist for ”Genii” magazine for roughly 14 years and later became the manager of the “Magic Castle” in Hollywood California for 10 years or so until he died. Michael’s Aunt Glo also has the artistic touch, doing murals and art shows throughout California and now in New Mexico.
 

Michael’s artistic career has spanned over fifty-six years. MO started his artistic career early on….first portrait at the age of 8 …first mural at the age of 12. At the age of 21, MO decided not to live in any one place, he saw a handmade home on wheels which sparked the start of a woodworking / artistic lifestyle - he built a hand-made rolling home, a 40’ masterpiece that took 3 years to build. It was featured in two books and was on television as well.

 

Michael spent 6 years building custom homes in the Santa Barbara area, while playing music in a popular band at the time. He then went on to airbrushing everything from T-shirts to fancy cars to large format murals in nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, and casinos. He became a teacher for the “Airbrush Magazine” off & on for about 4 years. His work is in just about every state in the US and in parts of Europe as well.

From 2006 to 2015 Michael was a major part of a live painting show called “Art Explosion” and “Artrageous” traveling not only in the US but in China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Bahamas, Alaska, painting large 6’x6’ paintings of celebrities and famous people in SIX minutes, live, on stage with live music. Today Michael lives in Tijeras, NM in the East Mountains outside of Albuquerque. Being a guitar player himself he decided to start a new venture painting guitars - electric, acoustic - and really any musical instruments, i.e. congas, drums, drum heads, etc.
 

Michael has a BA in arts from San Jose State and has been an expert with the airbrush for decades. His guitars use airbrush and hand painted techniques.
